When the Europeans first arrived in North America, Indians believed there were more buffalo than stars in the sky. The buffalo signifies the lost native lifestyle of years past. They believed that when the buffalo ended, history would end. Many believe whatever happens to the beasts, soon happens to man. Because there are no longer millions of animals migrating across the plains, buffalo is considered ecologically extinct but conservation herds are being established to create a metapopulation, allowing for the species to once again play an important ecological role in prairie grasslands.  I am an "enviornment photographer. I want to show the effects of our lives, our environment and the changes in them. I feel I need to speak for animals. I want to show what we have before it is gone. Our world is changing. And this is the only world we have.
